What if I want to add serum to the XF Assay Medium?

While Seahorse does not recommend adding serum (e.g. FBS) to the final medium preparation, as it affects buffering capacity and is capable of binding other proteins; if FBS is required, a concentration titration should be used to determine the least amount of serum that can be added as not to interfere with analysis. Seahorse does not recommend injecting serum as it will clog the injection ports.
