Investigating Metabolism and Neurological Function
The development of model systems such as primary neurons, isolated brain mitochondria, and synaptosomes from specific brain regions is enabling scientists to better understand the role of mitochondria in neurofunction. Conventional assays required large sample quantity, which limited the application of functional metabolic analyses. Researchers are using Agilent Cell Analysis technology to explore metabolic changes in neuronal systems, using live cells, in real time, requiring less biological samples than traditional assays.
