Specificity	In Western blotting of isolated P. jiroveci, the antibody labels an 82 kDa parasite-specific component (2). The antibody shows no cross-reactivity with human lung tissue and various rat tissues. Furthermore the antibody shows no cross-reactivity with Aspergillus fumigatus, Candida albicans, Entamoeba histolytica, Giardia lamblia, Leishmania tropica, Plasmodium falciparum, Toxoplasma gondii, Trypanosoma cruzi, Trypanosoma gambiense (2) and Cryptosporidium sp. (5).
