Reagent Provided	Monoclonal mouse antibody provided in liquid form as tissue culture supernatant in 0.05 mol/L Tris-HCl, pH 7.2 and 0.015 mol/L sodium azide. This product contains stabilizing protein.

Specificity	Anti-HBME-1 has been demonstrated to immunostain the membrane and cytoplasm of normal pleural and peritoneal mesothelial cells and of neoplastic epithelial mesothelioma cells. Although both the membrane and cytoplasm of epithelial mesothelioma cells stain with HBME-1, the thick membrane staining pattern was found to be more useful for classification of malignant mesothelioma. Other normal and malignant tissues detailed in the Performance characteristics section have also been reported to be immunoreactive with HBME-1 (1-4).
