Automatic measurement of energy metabolism in real time
Agilent Seahorse XF Analyzers measure oxygen consumption rate (OCR) and extracellular acidification rate (ECAR) of live cells in a multi-well plate, interrogating key cellular functions such as mitochondrial respiration and glycolysis. Seahorse XF Analyzers perform compound addition and mixing, label-free analytical detection, and automatic measurement of OCR and ECAR in real time.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to XF Bioenergetic Assays
This webinar will include an overview of XF assay basics, how to interpret the resulting XF data, and also present insights into developing other useful XF bioenergetic assays (e.g., anaplerotic metabolism).
Seahorse Metabolic Analyzers Enable Rapid, Quantitative Measurement of Cellular Bioenergetics
Seahorse assays enable quantification of cellular bioenergetics by measuring the two energy yielding pathways, mitochondrial respiration and glycolysis, in a sensitive and convenient microplate format.
Beyond Lactate: Measuring Glycolytic Rates in Live Cells with the Agilent Seahorse XF Glycolytic Rate Assay
Glycolysis is a critical process in both normal cellular function and diseases such as cancer. Cells readily switch between this energy producing pathway and mitochondrial respiration, depending on energy demand and nutrient availability. As such, knowing how much glycolysis is being used by cells at any moment in time is important for understanding the interaction between metabolic activity and cell function. When glycolysis proceeds to completion, lactate and protons are extruded from the cell. The Seahorse XF Glycolytic Rate Assay Kit measures the resulting acidification rates and accounts for mitochondrial acidification to deliver the most accurate acidification-based measurement available.
