The high-quality RNA ladder ensures accurate analysis of RNA samples. Both the RNA and HS RNA kits (15 nt) include the same ladder fragments sizing from 200 to 6,000 nt at the appropriate concentration for each kit. Reliable sizing, quantification, and quality assessment of the IVT mRNA up to 9,000 nt can be obtained with the RNA kit (15 nt) using the extended RNA method.
The Agilent Fragment Analyzer systems provide sensitive and reliable quality control analysis of RNA with the RNA kit (15 nt). Quality control during the IVT mRNA workflow allows for detection of poor transcription, DNA template contamination of RNA, and degraded RNA, ensuring downstream applications start with high-quality mRNA.
Knowing the quality of your total RNA sample is important for many downstream RNA applications such as next generation sequencing, qPCR, or microarrays. This is applicable not only for human samples but also for plant, insect, and bacteria samples. Evaluating RNA integrity prior to downstream analysis saves time, effort, and resources by ensuring that only samples of sufficient quality are used. To aid in objectively determining the integrity of a sample, quality metrics can be assigned to grade the quality of total RNA, independently of user bias.
