The Analytical Scientist Innovation Award (TASIA) highlights innovations delivered by transformative technology, game-changing software, or benchmark breaking instruments. The Agilent A-Line Quick Connect Fitting won this award for its highly innovative approach, in successfully simplifying the connection of fittings in ultra-high pressure environments.
“I see the award as recognition of Agilent’s significant engineering expertise and dedication to innovation which has yielded superior performance enhancements and ease of use. The A-Line Fittings save chromatographers time and rework while supporting excellent chromatographic results,” said Tom Logan, Senior Director of Global Marketing, Supplies Division/CSD.
Chromatographers working with HPLC and UHPLC are often challenged by problems such as peak tailing, peak broadening, split peaks, carryover, etc. One common cause for those problems is bad tubing connections. Dead volume or micro-leakage in tubing connections may strongly affect the performance and reproducibility of HPLC and UHPLC analysis, especially with ultra-high pressure and small column dimensions.
