Spacers or inserts are required for short path length cells that have less than 12.5 mm depth, to ensure secure mounting in a standard cell holder. Agilent offers black anodized aluminum spacers and quartz block inserts for use with 1, 2, and 5 mm path length cells

Features

Spacers allow 1, 2, and 5 mm path length cells (with less than 12.5 mm depth) to be securely mounted in a standard cell holder (for 12.5 x 12.5 mm cells)
Required when there is no path length adjustment facility in the cell holder
Quartz block inserts can also be used instead of spacers - they provide more flexibility as each insert provides two different pathlengths selected by rotating through 90 degrees.
