Gas Chromatography (GC) columns are at the heart of the gas chromatograph and responsible for the separation process. GC is one of the most important and critical tools in analytical chemistry, because of its effectiveness, sensitivity and ease-of-use. GC columns contain a stationary phase, typically a polymeric material. It is through the interaction between the analytes and this stationary phase within the column that separation of the analyte into their molecular components can occur.

There are two types of GC columns: packed columns and capillary columns. Agilent offers over 4000 J&W GC columns. GC column types include fused-silica capillary wall-coated open tubular (WCOT), porous-layer open tubular (PLOT), and packed columns with the best inertness for acids/bases/mixed functional compounds, the lowest bleed levels and tightest column-to-column reproducibility. When you use Agilent J&W GC columns in your lab, you have confidence in every separation.

Ultra Inert GC columns perform trace level analysis, including the analysis of acids, bases, or other active compounds, with the utmost confidence. They also help ensure an inert GC flow path that is essential for sensitivity, performance, and the integrity of analytical results.

Low-Bleed GC columns are designed to chromatograph trace-level samples, and offer low bleed and high inertness even at higher temperatures.

Standard Polysiloxane GC columns are stable, robust, and versatile, and available in a variety of stationary phases.

WAX GC columns offer a variety of phase characteristics to meet the varying needs of your laboratory, thanks to strict quality control of cross-linking and deactivation processes.

Specialty GC columns meet uncompromising standards for high-temperature, life science, pesticide, petroleum, semi-volatile, chiral, and volatile applications.

PLOT GC columns deliver separation for compounds that are gases at room temperature. They are also ideal for analyzing fixed gases, low molecular weight hydrocarbon isomers, volatile polymer compounds, and reactive analytes.

Design-In GC columns are specifically designed for Agilent GC instrumentation, including the Intuvo 9000, LTM, and GC systems compatible with Smart Key technology, including the 8890 GC.

Packed GC columns offer excellent and reproducible performance for sample types associated with packed column separations, essential in the hydrocarbon processing industry.
