Anti-human BCL2 antibodies. These single-color reagents are of value to the study of apoptosis (programmed cell death) and oncogenesis.
The antibody targets the BCL2 oncoprotein encoded by a gene involved in the t(14;18) chromosomal translocation. The BCL2 oncoprotein plays a central role in apoptosis (programmed cell death), acting as an inhibitor of the apoptotic process, and it has given name to a family of proteins engaged in the promotion/inhibition of apoptosis.
