The size and quality of the poly(A) tail is a critical part of in vitro transcription (IVT) mRNA workflows because the length of a poly(A) tail affects mRNA stability and influences translation efficiency. Agilent Fragment Analyzer systems with the Small RNA kit is a cost-effective, efficient, and reliable way to estimate the length of poly(A) sequences.
Knowing the size and quantity of small RNA that is present in a sample is crucial for downstream applications such as small RNA NGS, miRNA microarrays, and qRT-PCR. The Small RNA kit is focused on a smaller sizing range and can distinguish between the miRNA region (10 to 40 nt) and the small RNA region (10 to 200 nt). This kit sizes and quantifies the small RNA present in an RNA sample and determines the concentration and percentage of miRNA using ProSize data analysis software.
In this paper, samples are compared across both the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer and the Fragment Analyzer Small RNA kits to demonstrate the equivalency of the systems to analyze small RNAs.

The Small RNA kit (275 Samples) (Part # DNF-470-0275) is designed for the sizing and quantification of Small RNA samples, and determination of microRNA region content. Synthetic RNA can also be analyzed within the defined sizing region with this kit.
