Atomic Absorption

Innovative, Industry-leading Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometers

Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometers (AAS) are well-established for analyzing metals in a wide range of sample types. Flame atomic absorption (FAAS) aspirates the liquid sample into the flame whereas Graphite Furnace atomic absorption (GFAAS) injects the sample into a heated graphite tube. In both case the amount of light energy absorbed by the metal analyte atoms in the sample is indicative of their concentration. Flame AAS allows you to analyze a greater range of samples but Furnace AAS gives you outstanding detection limits. Better still, the AA Duo models give you the best of both worlds.

Agilent offers a range of atomic absorption spectrophotometers to suit any analytical need or budget. Our portfolio of AAS spectrometers includes the world’s fastest flame Atomic Absorption instruments, and the worlds most sensitive graphite furnace AAS instruments, so you are sure to find one to suit your needs.
