How It Works

Reduce mass spectrometry data acquisition time from minutes to seconds

RapidFire replaces liquid chromatography, providing MS data in as little as 2 seconds per sample, while producing data equivalent to traditional LC/MS analyses. Innovative fluidics and robust sample handling robotics provide continuous and reliable operation. Whether your priorities are analytical sensitivity, minimizing method development, or maximizing lab space, the ability to connect to TQ, TOF, and Q-TOF means RapidFire adapts to your needs. Optional solid phase extraction sample cleanup ensures quality data for complex sample matrices.

Online solid phase extraction

Samples are aspirated from well plates and loaded onto a solid phase extraction (SPE) cartridge. The sample is trapped on the cartridge and washed to remove salts and buffers. An optional extra wash can be performed to remove weakly bonded molecules similar to analytes of interest. Next, an elution solvent releases analytes of interest from the cartridge and delivers them to the mass spectrometer. Finally, the cartridge is re-equilibrated in preparation for the next sample. All these steps are typically completed in about 8 seconds.
