- A PLOT column with polarity between Porapak-Q and Porapak-N
- Excellent column for C1 to C3 isomers and Alkanes to C12, CO2, methane, air/CO, oxygenated compounds, sulfur compounds, and solvents
- A PLOT replace packed gas-solid columnscolumn to replace packed gas-solid columns
- Separates ethane, ethylene and ethyne (acetylene)
- Improved resolution in less time than conventional packed columns, minimal conditioning time required—1 hour
- Preferred "Q" column due to its robust nature

The HP-PLOT Q is a bonded polystyrene-divinylbenzene (DVB) based column that has been specially developed for the separation of targeted apolar and polar compounds including:
- Hydrocarbon (natural gas, refinery gas, ethylene, propylene, all C1-C3 isomers)
- CO2, methane, air/CO, and water
- Polar solvents (methanol, acetone, methylene chloride, alcohols, ketones, aldehydes, esters)]
- Sulfur compounds (H2S, mercaptans, COS)
