This set contains firmware files for all Agilent LC modules and corresponding documents. Revision changes are documented in the included Firmware Bulletin.

  • 1120 Compact LC
  • 1100 Series LC
  • 1200 Series LC
  • 1220 Infinity LC System
  • 1260 Infinity LC System
  • 1290 Infinity LC System
  • 1200 Infinity Series II LC System
  • G7100 Capillary Electrophoresis

Upgrade ALL existing modules modules to latest version only if

  • a new LC module is added to the existing system (recommended)
  • one of the existing modules requires an upgrade due to a bug fix solved with the latest release.

For firmware update procedures/tools refer to the Tools & Procedures.

This set includes just the latest firmware of each module. It's fully compatible with your CDS that supports this firmware set.

Agilent LC Firmware Set Interoperability and Support Statement:

  • Agilent releases LC firmware in sets for modules, which have been tested for interoperability. A set typically covers a range of firmware revisions, e.g. A/B/C/D.07.0x with variable values for x.
  • All Agilent LC instrument firmware sets have been designed and tested to be fully backward compatible to Agilent chromatographic data systems (CDS)
  • The module firmware in each set is fully compatible and interoperable with firmware for all other modules in the same set.
  • Firmware of different modules is linked, e.g. between host modules (B/D-firmware) and hosted modules (C-firmware). When upgrading firmware within a set, all modules in a system must be updated to the current firmware revision within that set.
  • Agilent recommends keeping the LC instrument firmware always current in order to include latest improvements and bug fixes.
  • Do not mix firmware revisions between different sets. Agilent does not guarantee mixed firmware revisions from older or newer sets.
  • For documentation of firmware revisions (e.g. in customer SOPs) the term "Revision XXX or later" or "Firmware from Set XXX or later" should be preferred instead of enforcing a specific firmware revision in order to allow applying bug fixes without a need for revalidations.

Notes for Agilent LC instruments controlled by non-Agilent Chromatography Data Systems (CDS):

  • The 3rd-party CDS software vendor is responsible for compatibility testing with the respective CDS revision.
  • The 3rd-party CDS software vendor defines the minimum firmware revision required for CDS compatibility.
  • The 3rd-party CDS release notes issued by the respective CDS vendor may use different terminology for the firmware requirements such as "tested firmware", "supported firmware", "firmware requirements", "minimum tested firmware", etc.
  • An Agilent LC instrument running a current firmware set is fully supported as long as it meets or exceeds the minimum firmware requirements specified by the 3rd-party CDS software vendor and meets Agilent's firmware set/firmware interoperability requirements.

1200 Compatibility and Emulation Mode

New 1260 modules like the G1310B can be converted to 1200 series type G1310A. Depending on the hardware this may result into limitations. This is described in detail in section Information about Emulation/Special Firmware.

OQ/PV after FW upgrade

Although an OQ/PV may not be necessary after FW upgrade (unless it's mentioned in the firmware history document), the IQ attachment form should be used to document the upgrade.
