Dear Agilent team, do you maybe have some information on using Enhanced Matrix Removal - Lipid kit (EMR-Lipid) for lipid separation in brain homogenate (eg. prepared in ratio 1:9 in PBS). As brain homogenate has a lot of lipids and proteins, the Signal-to-Noise ratio of quantification of specific analytes using LC-MS is too low. Do you maybe think that your Enhanced Matrix Removal - Lipid kit (EMR-Lipid) could improve the sample preparation, thus lowering the matrix effect of brain homogenate? Thank you in advance.

Greetings, We are interested in trying EMR lipid cartridges for cleanup of nonpolar extracts (targeting PAHs, PCBs, etc.). I understand that the cartridges need to be activated with a certain quantity of water + water-miscible solvent, but are there any concerns regarding performance with stronger solvents such as acetone, hexanes, isooctane, toluene, etc.? I have seen that the efficiency of some other sorbents targeting lipids/fatty acids are harmed by more nonpolar solvents, and acetone in particular (but this was more related to primary-secondary-amine phase interactions rather than the polarity of the solvent per se).

I am looking to try using the Enhanced Matrix Removal - Lipid kits to prepare Vegetable and Fish Oil samples for PAH testing via GC. Looking for anyone who has used these for advice.
