Inert sample introduction systems for the Agilent ICP-MS enable analysis of samples containing hydrofluoric (HF) acid. This kit replaces the standard quartz sample introduction parts, which are attacked and degraded by the free HF, with PFA components suitable for the analysis of high purity samples|These inert kits conveniently include the correct torch, injector, spray chamber and tubing required to run HF digests and low-level Boron and Silicon using the Agilent ICP-MS. The kit includes a PFA double pass Scott-type spray chamber, connecting tube and injector holder, fitted to a semi-demountable quartz torch. An inert sapphire or platinum injector for the torch is also included.

The inert PFA sample introduction kit for Agilent ICP-MS instruments includes a PFA connecting tube joining the PFA spray chamber to the semi-demountable quartz torch. The connector optionally includes a gas port enabling addition of O2 for organics analysis, or dilution gas for HMI applications.|The connector fitting uses a push fit, O-ring free seal and has an ID that matches precisely to the ID of the spray chamber and torch injector holder on the exit side. A quartz connector or transfer tube is used to join the standard quartz spray chamber to the base of the quartz torch for Agilent ICP-MS instruments. Optionally a PFA equivalent is available for use with inert sample introduction kits.|Two different connector tubes are available. A straight transfer tube is used with ICP-MS having UHMI spray chamber (pn G8400-67150) or earlier models that do not have HMI capability. A connector tube with a dilution port inlet fitting is used with instruments that have HMI capabilities, to enable introduction of the dilution gas to the aerosol prior to the torch.
