Agilent's high quality ICP-MS systems contain interfaces that have a step-down vacuum stage, located between a pair of conical metal plates, known as interface cones. In common terminology, the first and second cones are referred to as the sample cone and skimmer cone, respectively. Agilent has all your interface cone maintenance needs covered with our range of supplies and accessories.|A range of accessories, components and spare parts are available including cone tools, magnifier and cleaning fixtures, sampling cone carbon/graphite gaskets, cotton cleaning swabs, Citranox and Alumina powder.
One-piece and semi-demountable quartz torches for Agilent ICP-MS, including torches for organic solvents and HF
The ICP torch is used to form, shape, and sustain an argon plasma which atomizes and ionizes the sample aerosol. Precise ion energy control, ensuring high sensitivity and stability, even in cool plasma mode for effective interference removal (ArO+) is critical. For Agilent 77/78/79/88/8900 ICP-MS torches, this is ensured by the Shield Torch System (STS). For Agilent 9500 ICP-MS, the balanced RF generator enables plasma grounding without a shield plate.|Our portfolio is comprised of a wide range of ICP torches for your specific ICP-MS configuration. One-piece quartz torches offer the best stability and ease of use. The large 2.5 mm injector on the standard torch gives maximum robustness and lowest matrix interferences for the best plasma stability. Single-piece torches with narrow bore injectors (1.0 mm or 1.5 mm) are designed for use with organic solvents, to reduce plasma loading and improve plasma stability. Optional semi-demountable quartz torches with removable platinum or sapphire injectors are also available for use with the PFA inert sample introduction kit.
ICP-MS nebulizers including MicroMist, Mira Mist and MicroFlow inert PFA self-aspirating nebulizers
ICP-MS system operates with an ICP-MS Nebulizer, in which a high velocity Argon gas stream meets a liquid stream causing filmwise breakup of the solution into a fine aerosol. The aerosol particle size should ideally be sub-10 µm with a narrow particle size distribution to achieve efficient atomization and ionization. Agilent offers a comprehensive range of ICP-MS nebulizers and supplies to solve any ICP-MS analysis challenge.|The portfolio includes standard glass concentric nebulizer (MicroMist), quartz and inert PFA nebulizers (MicroFlow and C-Flow), as well as robust Mira Mist PEEK or PTFE for high TDS samples and low-flow self-aspirating or total consumption nebulizers for your clinical or limited volume samples. ICP-MS nebulizer support is provided with a full range of accessories for all models including nebulizer cleaning tools.
Agilent stainless steel & brass skimmer bases optimize the temperature of the skimmer cone tip
Agilent ICP-MS skimmer cone bases are available in either stainless steel or brass. The operating temperature of the skimmer cone tip is controlled by the skimmer base material. The stainless steel base is used for nickel (Ni) skimmer cones. The platinum skimmer cone should only be used with the brass skimmer base.|The skimmer base ensures the correct operating temperature of the skimmer cone to prevent damage by overheating or increased drift due to excess matrix deposition at the tip if the cone runs too cool.|The ion extraction lenses are fixed to the skimmer base. The correct type for lens configuration and ICP-MS model is required.
Quartz ICP-MS spray chambers for use with, or without HMI or UHMI
An ICP-MS spray chamber, or ICP spray chamber, removes larger sample droplets from aerosols. Agilent offer a quartz spray chamber as standard. These Scott double pass spray chambers are Peltier cooled to reduce solvent loading on the plasma, ensuring optimal signal stability and improved precision in your results. |ICP-MS spray chambers can be used with or without High Matrix Introduction (HMI) or Ultra High Matrix Introduction (UHMI). HMI/UHMI technology uses clean argon gas for aerosol dilution and desolvation to extend matrix tolerance up to 25% TDS, improving plasma robustness and reducing matrix suppression, without liquid dilution. The UHMI inlet on the quartz spray chamber for the 7850/7900/8900 increases the matrix tolerance beyond the capability of other ICP-MS. |Agilent ICP-MS spray chambers are compatible with the Agilent 7700, 7800, 7850, 7900, 8800 and 8900 ICP-MS. ICP-MS spray chambers should be used with an end cap to secure the nebulizer and a connector tube to join the spray chamber to the ICP-MS torch.

This creates an intense magnetic field inducing collisions between free electrons and Ar atoms, producing ions and more electrons, and creating or sustaining a stable, high temperature plasma.

Agilent has inert PFA concentric and MiraMist nebulizers & supplies to suit your ICP-MS application
Inert PFA concentric nebulizers or Mira Mist nebulizers (available in PEEK or PTFE) offer the best resistance to concentrated acids and organic solvents. They are recommended for samples prepared in hydrofluoric acid and are available for all Agilent ICP-MS models.|The enhanced parallel path design of the MiraMist ensures it is tolerant of high level of particulates and total dissolved solids (TDS) in the sample with excellent resistance to clogging.
Drain tubing and fittings for aqueous and organic solvents for all Agilent ICP-MS instruments
ICP-MS drain tubing is used to transfer liquid waste from the spray chamber drain to a waste vessel. Agilent provides a variety of ICP-MS drain tubing, connectors and other fittings applicable to different Agilent ICP-MS instrument models. Our portfolio also includes an assembled spray chamber drain tube assembly, which can join the spray chamber waste port to the peristaltic pump tubing. |Agilent ICP-MS drain tubing uses acid and organic solvent resistant materials to give long life and leak free connections. The standard PVC drain tubing is recommended for aqueous samples, including acid digests. For organic solvents, this should be replaced with ETFE coated Urethane tubing that is solvent resistant. |Regular inspection of the drain tubing is recommended and replacement if the tubing has perished or shows discoloration.

High purity PFA sample uptake tubing with different ID & connectors to suit your ICP-MS configuration
Agilent ICP-MS PFA tubing is used to transfer samples and internal standards (ISTD) to the ICP-MS sample introduction system. This sample uptake tubing is inserted into the peristaltic pump tubing and makes the connections from your autosampler probe to your nebulizer and for the Agilent ISIS 3 switching valve. PFA is chosen for its high purity and excellent chemical resistance for ICP-MS applications. It can provides long lifetime and low background signal for your analysis. |PFA sample uptake tubing of different internal diameters (ID) and with a range of connectors are available so you can select the optimum tubing for your configuration. ISIS switching valve tubing is provided in custom lengths, with fittings, for simple direct replacement.
