Frequently asked questions

What is the duration of an instrument warranty?

One year. Warranty begins earlier of customer acceptance or 45 days from shipment.

If any repairs are needed during the warranty period, they are further warranted for the remainder of the warranty period or 90 days from the repair, whichever is longer. Read the warranty statement.

How and when will my repair be scheduled?

Contact Agilent customer service to discuss your issue and receive service. Note 50% of all issues are resolved remotely with our Virtual Tech Support process. When covered under warranty or service plan and if a visit is required, the service professional will come prepared and generally arrives in 2 to 3 business days.

What’s included in the CrossLab Connect subscription?

Each CrossLab Connect subscription includes a license and support for one instrument connection. Any new product capabilities and software releases are included for the length of the subscription. Your lab will also benefit from the Agilent’s expert guidance throughout your subscription period, from onboarding through insights and outcomes.

How do the prices differ across the various service plan options? (Repair, Preventive Maintenance (PM), Bronze, Silver, Gold)?

Prices are dependent on the type of instrument that is being covered; Agilent supports over 19 product platforms.

Pricing is based on the composition of onsite repair and scheduled services. Bundled plans, like Silver, include both unlimited repair coverage, an annual preventive maintenance visit and optional qualification services.

Price increases with expected response times. For example, the Gold plan is more expensive partly due to its 1 business day response time.

What is included in onsite repairs as part of a CrossLab service plan?

Our most popular CrossLab service plans include genuine Agilent parts, travel and labor, and consumables required for repair.

How is the Enhanced Extended Warranty (EEW) service plan set up and when can I purchase it?

EEW begins after your complimentary 1-year warranty. Depending on the length of your contract, Silver-equivalent entitlements begin in year 2 through year 5.

Silver-equivalent entitlements include onsite repair, annual preventive maintenance, and priority response time. EEW can only be purchased at point of instrument sale but can be renewed as a Silver plan following contract expiration.

Are consumable items covered under warranty?

Consumable items will be supplied at no charge if they are required to execute a repair or if they are found defective resulting from Agilent materials or workmanship.

What is Virtual Tech Support? Is this technology only available with service plans?

Virtual Tech Support (VTS) takes Agilent’s complimentary phone support to the next level. Built exclusively for CrossLab Service Plan customers, the VTS toolsets unlock advanced remote repair capabilities that fix issues remotely 50% of the time.

That means quicker resolutions, more instrument uptime, and a seamless remote experience available for Service Plan customers.

How do I renew a service plan?

Typically, Agilent will contact you directly when your plan approaches renewal date. We are increasingly offering automated renewal options on-line to make it easier and faster for you to renew your plan.

Does Agilent offer flexible payment terms?

Yes, you can discuss payment terms that best accommodate your needs with your Service Representative. Additional payment options like Flexible Spend Plan can be used as well.

How secure is my data with CrossLab Connect?
