Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) Agilent is proud to announce a Center for Excellence (CoE) lab facility in Gujarat Technological University’s (GTU) premises. The facility will be available for faculty members of GTU, their students, and Agilent team to study and develop novel application workflows in the areas of analytical chemistry, biopharmaceuticals, and life science research.

This new CoE instrumentation laboratory is intended as a shared educational and research space that will offer tremendous opportunities to advance scientific discovery and validation, while also serving as a valuable technology resource to academia.

Agilent India also achieved a significant milestone in strengthening its footprints in India with the inauguration of its new office in the city of Ahmedabad, within the state of Gujarat on 14th March 2022. This new workspace encourages design thinking elements, brings vibrancy, and has an efficient layout to serve their customers even better.

“Agilent is extremely pleased to collaborate with GTU for setting up of this innovative research facility,” said Dr. Samir Vyas, Country General Manager, Agilent India. “This technical collaboration will strengthen the learning ecosystem with advanced technology to support the cutting-edge research for addressing new challenges. This is in perfect alignment with Agilent’s commitment to innovate with a purpose and enrich the lives in the communities in which we operate.”

“I’m also proud of our milestone achievement in setting up of a new Agilent office in Ahmedabad, which is designed as a modern collaborative workplace that will improve the experience for our employees and customers,” Dr. Vyas added.

In the words of Prof. Navin Sheth, Hon. Vice-Chancellor of GTU, "GTU's Graduate School of Pharmacy is privileged to have an Agilent Analytical Center of Excellence located within GTU campus. We are thankful to Agilent India for extending this gesture to collaborate with GSP (Gujarat School of Pharmacy) and GTU. This collaboration will undoubtedly benefit GSP's faculties and students."

Due to the rapid speed of technological innovation, universities and other educational and research institutions may find it difficult to keep up with the latest technology and training requirements. The suite of Agilent instrumentation housed in the GTU facility – backed by Agilent application expertise – will advance long-term technical and scientific goals in the state of Gujarat and support economic and technological sustainability throughout the region. In addition, the facility will also serve as a regional hub for Agilent representatives to showcase and demonstrate instrumentation functions and capabilities. This new setup will ensure Agilent has its CoE facility in this Western region which has a high concentration of pharmaceutical industries and academic institutes. Agilent in India has three other CoE facilities at Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Manesar.

The collaboration will not only help both Agilent and GTU in co-creating novel workflows but also in establishing newer methods for sample analysis and QC for potential customers.
