How do I choose an appropriate holder for my product?

Apparatus 7 has a wide variety of holders depending on the type of product being tested. Depending on the type, there may be several options to consider:

Tablets: Pointed Rod (Osmotics only) and Spring Holders. Spring holder dimensions are listed and you should choose a holder that has an internal diameter which is larger than the tablet being tested, but as close to the tablet as possible. For osmotic dosage forms, the pointed rod is the most common choice and the tablet is glued to the bottom of the rod with a small amount of cyanoacrylate glue (superglue)

Medical Devices: Mini baskets and Stent Holder for Traditional Apparatus 7 (wide variety of holders for the 400-DS small volume Apparatus 7)

Transdermal: Transdermal patch holder, reciprocating disks, angled disks (holder choice should be based on the dimensions of the patch being tested and the desired media volume)
