Fast and accurate refinery gas analysis based on the Agilent 7890B GC System and the G3507A Large Valve Oven using micro-packed columns 5991-3534EN

A three-channel Agilent 7890B GC System was used to analyze refinery gases within the following parameters:

• Channel 1 employed an FID and alumina PLOT column to measure hydrocarbons from methane to C6+
• Channel 2 measured permanent gases and hydrogen sulfide, using the G3507A Large Valve Oven (LVO) under isothermal conditions with helium carrier
• Channel 3 measured hydrogen, using nitrogen as the carrier
• Micro-packed GC RGAs (1/16 in od, 1.00 mm id) were used for the permanent gas channel
• Channels 1 and 3 were temperature programmed with their columns in the main 7890B GC System oven
• Analysis time averaged approximately 8.5 minutes, including a hydrogen sulfide determination
