The Cary 60 UV-Vis Spectrophotometer can measure highly absorbing samples without dilution. The extended photometric range of the Cary 60 instrument also allows the measurement of samples requiring high background correction that would normally require HPLC analysis.

Xenon Flash Lamp. The Cary 60 uses just one light source; a xenon flash lamp. Since the source is only on when a measurement is taken, the lamp has a very longlife time and limits degradation of photosensitive samples. Since no expensive deuteruim lamp is used, you save thousands of dollars in replacement costs over the lifetime of the instrument. The Cary 60 Xenon lamp allows acquisition at 80 data points per second, and is unaffected by room light.

Flow-through Sample Collection and Analysis. The Cary 60 utilizes an 18-position multicell changer which can handle either single- or dual-apparatus operation. The closed-loop flow-through design maintains a constant volume in the vessels throughout the entire run by returning the solution back into the vessels, eliminating the need to calculate for volume lost. Dedicated tubing and flow cells for each vessel prevent cross contamination. Quartz cells of 1, 2, 5, and 10 mm path length are available for UV-Vis analyses.

Cary 60 for On-Line Multicell UV Analysis

  • Flow cells provide analytical precision for 0.2 to 10 mm cell path lengths
  • 16-position accommodations for flow cells (8 for each dissolution apparatus) allow for a blank, a standard, and the analysis of the 6 samples. Or, run with two sets of flow cells with different path lengths for dual path length, single-bath configurations

Cary 60 with UV Fiber-Optic Multiplexer

  • Excellent optical transmission and reproducibility over the entire extended wavelength range of the Cary 60
  • Extended linear photometric range ideally suited for fiber-optic analysis
  • Precise and rapid position-to-position movement of the multiplexer to decrease time needed between sample points
