Does anyone here use the Agilent 5800 ICP-OES in Ohio or Northern Kentucky? We are having some issues with Zn and would like to talk to companies that are using this instrument.
Determination of elements in phosphoric acid using ICP-MS and ICP-OES
Determination of elements in phosphoric acid using ICP-MS and ICP-OES
-
The following elements are to be analysed: aluminum, arsenic, gold, barium, calcium, cadmium, chromium, copper, iron, potassium, lithium, magnesium, manganese, sodium, nickel, lead, sulphur, antimony, silicon, tin, strontium, titanium, vanadium and zinc. In an older Agilent ICP-MS application (Agilent 7500 ICP-MS), I read that phosphoric acid must be diluted to at least 1:100. Is the viscosity of the phosphoric acid the problem? Furthermore, I have read in a Perkin-Elmer ICP-OES application (Optima 8300) that, in this case, the phosphoric acid only needs to be diluted 1:10. As we do not have an ICP-MS-QQQ, we would need to measure the silicon and sulphur using OES; we would also measure the calcium, potassium and sodium using OES.
Arsenic optimization quantification using ICP-OES
Arsenic optimization quantification using ICP-OES

Hello all, I am using Agilent ICP-OES 5900, I’m looking for advice on the best ICP‑OES line for quantifying arsenic from crude oil acid digestions. I’m currently using As 188.980 nm (radial view), but my results appear higher than expected, and I’m working at levels below 0.5 ppm.
