High Strand Specificity

Strand specificity allows you to determine where reads from overlapping transcripts come from and determine if antisense transcripts are being expressed. Standard RNA-Seq protocols lose this information as the result of the library preparation of RNA samples.

SureSelect Strand-Specific RNA Library Preparation Kit uses Uracil DNA Glycosylase (UDG) and Actimycin D to obtain >99% strand specificity for confidence in determining the orientation of your transcript.

Better Transcript Coverage Uniformity

With most traditional RNA-Seq library preparation methods there is a distinct 3’ sequencing bias resulting in uneven coverage across a transcript. This can require the need to sequence deeper to obtain sufficient 5’ transcript coverage. We have optimized the chemistry with SureSelect Strand-Specific RNA Library Prep Kit such that you obtain better coverage across an entire transcript when using intact RNA.
