RNace-It Ribonuclease Cocktail - Details & Specifications

RNace-it Ribonuclease Cocktail is a mixture of two RNases: RNase A and a nonspecific RNAse from Aspergillus oryzae. The combined action of these ribonucleases results in the degradation of RNA into small oligoribonucleotides (Figure 1).

Lane 1: untreated boiling miniprep DNA. Lane 2: boiling miniprep DNA incubated with 20 U of RNace-It cocktail for 5 minutes at 37°C.



Unit Definition: 20 units will degrade the RNA in a 1.5-ml plasmid preparation

Concentration: 10,000 units/ml (2 mg/ml RNase A, 5,000 units/ml RNase T1)

Purity: Free from contaminating DNase activity after incubation of 100 units with 1 µg of pBluescript phagemid for 30 minutes at 37°C

Reaction Conditions: Active in any neutral buffer (pH 6.0-9.0) or water with sodium chloride concentrations <100 mM

Storage Buffer: 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 15 mM NaCl

Storage Conditions: -20°C
