Qualitative Analysis

MassHunter Qualitative Analysis

  • MassHunter Qualitative Analysis is feature-rich mass spec screening software for the confirmation of target or suspect compounds, and for the identification of unknown analytes. The software is part of the MassHunter suite, which supports a wide range of Agilent mass spectrometry instruments.
  • Advanced data mining and processing options let you rapidly and accurately find all detectable compounds and easily confirm targets or identify unknowns. Results can be displayed using fast, flexible data reporting with either preconfigured reports that simplify basic analyses, or completely customized PDF reports.
  • Compatible with Agilent GC/MSD, GC/TQ, GC/Q-TOF, LC/TQ, and LC/Q-TOF
  • Inspect and annotate total/selected ion chromatograms and mass spectra
  • Identify compounds by molecular formula and MS or MS/MS library search
  • Set up and run a target/suspect screening workflow
  • Calculate and report sample purity with the Find-by-Formula algorithm
  • Find unknown compounds in a sample using Molecular Feature Extractor (MFE)
  • Create and run custom mass spec identification workflows
  • Design and generate custom PDF reports of sample results using Report Builder
  • Qualitative Analysis is ideal for researchers using mass spectrometry in pharmaceutical, food, environmental, energy, and industrial applications.

How it works

Easy setup of suspect compounds analysis with predefined workflows

Built-in automated workflows simplify parameter setup for data analysis, for example Sample Purity, Compound Screening, or Custom workflows. Data files are quickly scanned for compounds of interest and results are displayed in easy-to-evaluate windows showing only what is required.

Based on the Sample Purity workflow, as shown, Compound View was used for sample analysis. Information displayed in this view allows quick screening of identified sample compounds.

Enhanced data mining for identification and confirmation of compounds

MassHunter Qualitative Analysis software simplifies identification and confirmation of compounds using third-party and Agilent ChemVista databases and libraries. The software helps scientists to quickly work through the acquired data via specific, built-in workflows.

As shown, samples are quickly analyzed in the Sample Purity workflow, which includes Find by Formula, and a database that helps identify the compounds. The results are shown for each of the identified chromatogram peaks, with a molecular structure also displayed.

Boost your lab’s productivity through various export formats for third-party software

MassHunter Qualitative Analysis software has the capability to export data formats that are native to third-party software, allowing access to a larger scope of spectral data. These workflows are targeted to help identify unknown analytes that might have been missed before.

Research scientists are always looking for better ways to search for results. MassHunter Qualitative Analysis offers the ability to export files like mzML or mzXML, as shown. These files allow scientists to import data into third-party software for further data mining.
