3. About ASX500
If the ROM version of the ASX500 software is ver.1.4 or earlier, the
ASX500 may hang up when you set 0 sec for the "Optional Rinse". This is set
in the dialog box shown by selecting the "PeriPump"-"Set PeriPump Program"
or when you stop a sequence that has already started.
3-1. Select "ASX500" in the autosampler combobox on Configuration Task.
3-2. Click "Cmdline on" in the system menu of Acquisition Task.
3-3. Enter "ALSCOMMAND "VER"(ENTER-KEY)" in the command line.

4. For HP Vectra XM series 4 and XA 5/166 Users
HP-IB select code must be set to 6 if your computer is Vectra XM series 4
and Vectra XA 5/166. This is set in the configuration task. The default
value is usually 7, but we set it to 6 when shipping XM series 4
  and XA 5/166.

5. You cannot use long file names(more than 8 characters) for files and
directories that the ChemStation refers to.

6. Optional Software
Following optional software products can be installed and operated on the ChemStation
  system disk Rev.B.01.01.
          EnviroQuant Software Rev.B.01.00
          ETV Operating Software Rev.B.01.00
          Laser Operating Software Rev.B.01.00
          FI Operating Software Rev.A.01.00
Note for the FI Operating Software Rev.A.01.00:
The FI Operating Software Rev.A.01.00 overwrites some parts of the ICP-MS
ChemStation software. Please install the supplemental disk Rev.B.01.03 for
the ICP-MS ChemStation Software again. It is necessary to keep your
ChemStation updated to the latest version.

[New features in this version]
1. Year 2000 Compliance
This version of the ChemStation Software (combines the system disk
Rev.B.01.01 and the supplemental disk Rev.B.01.02 or later) is Year 2000 Compliant.
Accessary software for Windows 95 is also Year 2000 Compliant when
they are installed on the ChemStation Rev.B.01.01 or later.

2. Bug fix for the default data path for TOP Task
There was a problem that when the latest data path opened on offline data
analysis, it set as the initial data path for TOP task. Consequently,
the path is displayed as the default data path in Start Sequence
dialog box. The problem was fixed in this version.

3. Bug fix for the output value of Count in reports
CPS was output to Quantitative Reports, Custom Reports and QC Reports, instead of
Counts. The problem occurred when Data Analysis did not quantitate some
elements; for example, the measured masses are set as "Excluded" in the
calibration table of the used method. The bug was fixed in this version.

4. Bug fix for the sensitivity auto tuning.
It is fixed that auto tuning macro stops with the error "Expected a
variable or function name", when sensitivity auto tuning was executed with
the option, "Reduce Doubly Charged Ions", "Reduce Oxide Ions"
  or "Reduce Background".

5. Bug fix for calibration table.
It is fixed for mass numbers that sometimes displayed incorrectly in
a calibration table, when they are deleted and added again.

Feature 2 to 5 requires the combination of the system disk Rev.B.01.01
and the supplemental disk Rev.B.01.03 or later.

[Current software status]
1. Possible error message displayed when ChemStation is started.
When you start the top level of ChemStation, a message that says
"APG_TOP is already running" is sometimes displayed.
In this case, please close Windows and reboot your computer.

2. Displaying the Notepad window
If you select Screen as a reports destination, the Notepad window will
sometimes be hidden behind the ChemStation window. This occurs when you
generate reports using the "DoList" function. If this happens, click on
the Notepad icon displayed on the Windows task bar, and the Notepad
window will be brought to the front.

3. About deleting the current method
Please do not delete the method file that is currently loaded on
ICP-MS Top or ICP-MS Data Analysis. If you do, the drive in which
the method file is located will be disabled in the Selecting Method
   dialog box.
To solve this problem, please close Windows and reboot your computer.

4. About Autotune
When you would like to abort "Set EM" or "Autotune", please click "Abort" on
the MENU BAR. DO NOT CLICK "Abort" on the SYSTEM MENU. If you click "Abort" on
the system menu, the program may not finish normally. In addition, the tuning
file name will be changed to "temp.u$" while the "Set EM" program is running.
The file name will change to "atune.u" once you close the tuning task and
  then open it.

5. About 'Edit Average File'
If you start Edit Average File when another instance of
Edit Average File is already running, the data file is loaded
not on the second instance of Edit Average File but on the first one.
Please operate as following, when you want to open two or more
data files on Edit Average File:

   (1) Load the first data file by Data Analysis task.
   (2) Start [Edit Average File] from the menu command
      [Files] >> [Edit Average File...]
   (3) Load the second data file, using the menu command
[ICP-MS Data] that is displayed in the menu bar
      of Edit Average File task.
