Literary Excellence from UKAS
8 January 2007
For thirty years the British accreditation agency has always been at the fore-front in providing helpful advice on the complicated subject of calculating measurement uncertainty. Their earliest guide, known as BCS B3003 first published in 1977, became NAMAS NIS3003 in the following decade and then UKAS M3003 in 1997.
The document has received worldwide acclaim for many years because it presents the topic in a way that is probably more meaningful to calibration practitioners than the ISO GUM.
With such a pedigree, it might be a surprise to learn that it could again be improved but that is the case with a completely revised edition just released on the UKAS website. This latest version is freely available to everyone and is already claimed to be a "top download".
