An Introduction
NCSL is a voluntary, non-profit organization
established in the mid-1960s to promote co-operative efforts
for solving the common problems faced by measurement laboratories.
By the turn of the century it had grown to over 1500 member
organizations from academic, scientific, industrial, commercial
and government laboratories. These are located throughout
the world, involved in measurements of every type, on all
levels.
NCSL disseminates vital, timely information of interest to
the membership; provides a vehicle for company as well as
personal interaction and exchange of ideas and information;
and provides opportunity to comment upon proposed, or develop,
new standards both nationally and internationally.
Symposium
The annual conference regularly attracts around one thousand
scientists, metrologists and managers and is probably the
most significant event of its kind. It provides a forum for
the exchange of ideas, techniques and innovations among those
engaged in measurement science. A large commercial trade show
forms part of an attractive program.

"NCSL International has been the premier forum for sharing
of ideas metrological for 40 years. Being non-profit, the
organization is driven almost exclusively by the efforts of
volunteers such as myself, generously supported by our hosting
companies. Your participation, as well as the support of you
sponsoring company, will add to the vibrant mix of broad international
cooperation that happens within NCSL International. Come and
