Agilent dc electronic loads and power supplies are well suited for fuel cell testing.

Agilent loads help evaluate fuel cell designs by:

  • Drawing regulated power from the cells
  • Measuring voltage and current on the cells or fuel cell stacks
  • Facilitating Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) measurements to:
    - Identify problems with fuel cell components
    - Uncover deviations in the fuel cell assembly process

Agilent power supplies are used to:

  • Extend the operating range of electronic loads to test fuel cells at low voltages

For more information on how to use Agilent electronic loads to make EIS measurements, see the Product Note below entitled Making Fuel Cell ac Impedance Measurements Utilizing Agilent N3300A Series Electronic LoadsFree EIS software is also available to control the loads and the Agilent 33120A function generator to obtain and plot ac impedance measurements for EIS. Free Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) software

In addition to electrical test instrumentation, Agilent also manufactures and sells chemical analysis instrumentation for fuel cell development, manufacturing, and servicing. More information on these instruments can be found at Fuel Cells
