SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 5, 2008
Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced that its Infiniium 90000A Series 13-GHz oscilloscopes have been approved by the PCI-SIG (PCI Special Interest Group) for PCI Express (PCIe(r)) 2.0 electrical signal quality testing. This approval means designers can use Agilent's DSO/DSA91304A Infiniium oscilloscope to test and validate their designs with confidence they will meet PCIe physical layer specifications.
"We are pleased to see Agilent's latest oscilloscope approved for use in our workshops for PCIe 2.0 electrical testing," said Al Yanes, PCI-SIG president and chairman. "Testing tools like the Infiniium 90000A Series oscilloscope will help speed industry adoption of PCIe 2.0 and ensure that developers obtain the necessary signal quality based on the 5GT/s PCIe 2.0 technology."
"Agilent is delighted to have its newest, flagship Infiniium 90000A Series oscilloscope approved for official PCIe 2.0 testing," said Scott Sampl, general manager of Agilent's oscilloscope business. "Designers need the right tools to validate physical layer compliance in order to ensure interoperability. We believe the Infiniium 90000A is the right tool for PCIe 2.0 technology. We will continue to provide advanced tools and capabilities to support the PCI-SIG and future PCI Express standards."
The Agilent Infiniium 90000A Series oscilloscopes offer the world's deepest acquisition memory depth (up to 1 G points). This ultradeep memory gives designers the ability to capture 25 milliseconds of time, at 40 GSa/s, on all four channels simultaneously. This memory depth is six times deeper than the memory in other oscilloscopes in the same class. For PCI Express, the 90000A's deep memory easily exceeds the requirement to capture a minimum of 1 million unit intervals of waveform data for jitter and voltage margin analysis.
The new Infiniium 90000A platform also provides unmatched measurement performance and superior signal integrity. The DSO and DSA models are capable of more than 150,000 measurements per second and offer modes supporting more than 300,000 triggers per second.
